Our challenge was to produce a life-like horse costume that could be worn by 2 people, and be taken off in shot.

Carefull consideration of the proportions and possibilities was needed to determine how this might be done in a convincing way. 

 The sculpt was done to match an existing horse as there was to be a direct cut in the final edit between the two.  The full size sculpt was modelled in clay, before being moulded in GRP and cast in foam.  The final finish was applied in combed flock to give a totally realistic look.

Light weight cores were mounted within the foam and were supported on the actors shoulders.
