Artem were approached to build a replica of a large calibre gun to be mounted on the deck of a WW2 submarine.

The other submarines seen in the film had been shot as models in tanks, but the director wanted the actors to be able to interact on deck with the gun in certain shots.

We worked to reference photographs of an original submarine and Art Department drawings in order to produce as accurate a replica as possible.
