We were commissioned to design a spectacular entrance to a viewing theatre on the Rolls Royce exhibition stand at the Paris Air Show.
The brief was to utilise the shape of a Rolls Royce jet engine cowling as a ‘portal’ and incorporate theatrical effects to attract interest.
Automatic sliding doors were clad in a lenticular graphic of turbine blades, which animated as one walk past. When the doors were triggered, either by a PIR sensor or by remote button, the sound of a jet engine starting up played, the ring of lights within the rim chased round and jets of smoke were injected into the portal. After this 25 second sequence the doors opened to allow entry to a video show. |
